Brooke Williams, LCPC

AdminHelping others comes naturally to me.

Hi, my name is Brooke Williams, the founder of Balanced Grace Therapy.

I am the baby of my family, and I consider myself someone who finds beauty in almost anything. That could be something as small as a young child holding their parent’s hand to something more robust, such as watching a waterfall. Gratitude and appreciation bring meaning to my life, even on the hard days.

Becoming a therapist was like second nature to me. I stumbled upon it in second grade when I would have mini-listening sessions with friends who were having a bad day. I would listen to them and give them the best advice to help them. I didn’t quite know what I was doing then, but as I grew up, it became more apparent. I love what I do!

Therapy is my passion. If I help one person, I will know I am making a difference in the world – or at least in someone’s world.

What is your first session like with me?

Whether you meet me online or in person, I always welcome you with a smile. My clients have told me I am inviting, warm, energetic, friendly, and accommodating. No matter how you come, I will accept you as you arrive.

In our first session, I aim to learn more about you and not just your situation. We gain trust with time; your comfort is most important to me. We will chat and even laugh as you unveil your thoughts, perspectives, and desires to me.

With over nine years of experience, depending on your reasons for entering my office, we will break down your relationships’ present, past, and status. From there, I will gain insight into what areas in your life you would like to explore and dig deeper into. Therapy can be “scary” and “uncomfortable” initially, but I want you to know that the process will be worth it.

After the first session, that fear and uncomfortable feeling tapers off as you allow yourself this time to speak what’s on your heart. You can count on my patience as your therapist because therapy isn’t a sprint – it’s a marathon. So, grab your good running shoes; I’ll jog alongside you as long as you deem fit.

Here are my credentials.

I have a Bachelor of the Arts (Psychology) from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Counseling from Roosevelt University.

As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, I began my career at a Chicago non-profit as a therapist and restorative justice coordinator working with inner-city adolescents and families. So, if you are coming in to talk about your relationship dynamics with family or romantic relationships, trust me, I have plenty of experience working with those situations.

My life is full outside work.

I’m a mom of twins who are my sun and stars (yes, I was a Game of Thrones Fan). I am also a doggie mom, a sports fan, and a lover of laughter.

My philosophy is to treat yourself at least once weekly to get through the week! We all deserve to celebrate ourselves and our accomplishments – big or small.
