You shouldn’t receive judgment for who you love.
Love is one of life’s most precious gifts. It can change people and inspire them to conquer things they never imagined.
Love doesn’t have a gender, race, or condition. It is about an attraction, bond, and connection that is sometimes unexplainable.
There is a sad truth about living in our society at times. Society often treats loving someone or existing as someone differently harshly. That’s because if you don’t meet the “status quo,” you’re not accepted.
Receiving such treatment can feel lonely and isolating. Honestly, it can be plain hurtful to be judged by something you can’t control. You want to be seen but not in a way that evokes shame and discomfort from others.
“I want to be accepted but still be me.”
It can be crushing at times to feel misunderstood, even before having an opportunity to be understood, just because of the way you present yourself.
Even worse is feeling out of place when people don’t accept you yet, and you still have to mingle with that person because they are your in-laws.
All you want is acceptance of the person you have become, the person you love, and wanting more out of life.
You don’t have to shrink yourself for others to feel tall, and you don’t have to compromise your comfort for others’ comfort.
We want to hear about your journey.
When we say that we want to hear about your journey, we mean it. Here at Balanced Grace Therapy, we love all love, regardless if that is love for another person or oneself.
Those in the LGBTQIA community have their way of perceiving not just the world but themselves due to the scrutiny they face. Even the dating world can be similar yet different from their heterosexual counterparts.
Having a therapist who can consider these differences is essential because you are unique but in the best ways. We look forward to working with you and celebrating the love you have found or seek to find with others and within yourself.
